He hasn’t given up on you. He hasn’t turned away. He hasn’t walked out. He would have. Others would have. But he hasn’t. God believes in you. And, I wonder, could you take some of the belief that he has in you and share it with someone else? Could you believe in someone?
— A Love Worth Giving, Max Lucado
I keep this journal where I write my notes during my Daily Quiet Time. Every now and then, I pick random dates and read through them. Sometimes, I share those notes here. You may even have read them already.
Anyway, what I’m about to share with you today was written last March 11, 2017. It was morning and I got an answered prayer.
May you be inspired. 🙂
I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for my tuition. I told myself I’d worry about it when the results are out and if I get in.
But God was thinking way ahead.
Mommyla called this morning. Apparently, she found out about my application for Graduate School — probably from Daddy or Tita Che. Anyway, she told me how she wanted to contribute to my tuition, even just a small part of it. I explained to her how I was just applying and still unsure if I was qualified for the program or not. Still, she insisted.
I didn’t expect this because I had it in mind that I’d pay for it all. I was actually praying for God’s grace to provide me enough salary increase this year in order for me to sustain myself. I never planned nor wanted to ask money from anyone.
But God is so good that He touched Mommyla’s heart and her generosity. The results aren’t out yet, but God is already working His provision.
God provides! Thank you Lord! 🙂
Oh, just so you know. The results came out today. I passed the Admission Test! 😀 I’ll be taking another test — the Proficiency Test, which is the final one — next week.
Praying for God’s favor. Whatever happens, may His Will be done. 🙂
Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV)
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
God doesn’t promise us to give everything we want. But He knows what we need, and that is what He promises. It is our responsibility to make good use of His provision. Pray for wisdom. Make a good budget.
Colossians 3:13 (NLT)
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
Who am I not to forgive those who have wronged me? Would I accept unforgiveness from those I have mistreated, especially after apology?
I sin as others have sinned. Yet the Lord forgave, forgives and will forgive. Not only me, but others as well. So why shouldn’t I?
In Jesus’ Name, I have been forgiven.
In Jesus’ Name, I forgive others, as the Lord forgave me.
Stress, problems and troubles are common. Each of us respond to them differently. Some respond through anger or outbursts or withdrawing socially. Some respond by striving, by doing what they can to meet the ultimate goal.
But what does the God say about this?
Romans 12:12 (NIV)
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Patience is the key. Know that God is in control. Know that He has plans for you, and that they are beautiful. Trust God.
Take heart and be glad in these troubles. They may even teach you things that only the experience of trouble can teach – character development, as you may say. They may even be your greatest testimonies. Through them, you can lead people to Jesus.
Most of all, pray. Talk to God. He’s listening. 🙂
Me: We both have received our calling, Lord. It seems we’re heading to two different paths. Will this relationship work? Will we have time to be together? Are we really what you want to be together? Or are we just each other’s learning tool or instrument to achieve the Will You have set for us?
Romans 8:28 (NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
We are called to God, to do God’s purposes. My calling to be in this relationship, my calling to stay in the corporate world and whatever other things I have been called to do, are only pieces of a big puzzle. The big puzzle is God. Like a jigsaw puzzle, all these “pieces” will fit to form the picture – the picture to proclaim the name of our Almighty.
If doubtful of God’s love, remember that He allowed His Son to die on the cross, in place of the punishment that we are supposed to receive. This is so we could have eternal life with Him. This is real love.
There’s no need to compare yourself to others. No need to be envious. No need to complain. Because in all matter of fact, what you have now and what you are is actually better than you deserve.
